Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an old healing practice of traditional Chinese medicine dating back over 4,000 years. It still remains effective today as a way to strengthen the body rather than merely treating symptoms. It is primarily used to relieve pain as well as treat other conditions. More than 3 million Americans and 200,000 children in the U.S. have had acupuncture to help relieve a symptom or condition. Because of its low side effects, it has been the treatment of choice for many doctors across the country. It is even more popular in other countries.
Auto Injuries
More than six million car accidents occur in America each year. Even a minor automobile accident can have major effects on your health. When one automobile is struck by another, thousands of pounds of force are exerted on the neck & spine.
Car accident injuries effect various parts of the body. Head, neck and back injuries are certainly the most common, but car accidents also frequently affect internal organs, and upper and lower limbs.
Most people don’t think that a 20 mph rear end collision can hurt them. But in reality, body can feel the effects of as little as 8 mph collisions.
The auto injury related treatment is covered in full by auto insurance policies whether you are a driver, a passenger, or a pedestrian… and regardless of who is at fault.
Dr. Cha is highly trained and very experienced in helping patients overcome painful auto accident injuries that cause strained muscles/sprained ligaments and spinal misalignments of the spine. Gentle and effective spinal adjustments, spinal decompression therapy, massage therapy, and physiotherapy will help you live without pain and regain the mobility that you once enjoyed.
Anyone who has been in an automobile accident, even if there are no obvious symptoms, should have a Chiropractic examination. The damage from spinal nerve stress may take weeks or even months to surface. Chiropractic exam and proper treatment can save an accident victim from much pain and disability later.
Frequently Asked Questions;
Q.. What symptoms can I get from an automobile accident?
A.. Car accident injuries effect various parts of the body. Head, neck and back injuries are certainly the most common, but car accidents also frequently affect internal organs, and upper and lower limbs. Wrist and hand sprain from holding tight the steering wheel, or hip/knee/ankle sprain from stepping hard the brake pedal at the time of collision is also very common auto-accident related injury.
Q.. Who pays for treatment?
A.. Auto insurance will pay in full for the treatments. You do not pay anything for the treatment related to auto injury in Minnesota.
Q.. Will my auto insurance premium be increased if I get treatments for auto injury?
A.. No. Whether you are responsible for the accident either partially or fully is the factor that affects your insurance premium. Whether or not you get the treatments shouldn’t be the reason that affects the premium.
Q.. I am involved an auto accident, but I don’t have auto insurance. Do I have to use my health insurance?
A.. No. As long as it is an auto accident related injury, your health insurance does not pay for the treatment. According to Minnesota No-Fault Law, there is almost always a liable no-fault insurance carrier who is responsible to pay for the treatments. We can help you to find the right no-fault insurer. Again, it does not affect the insurance premium of the no-fault insured.
Q.. I have previously existing pain on my neck that became worse after recent auto accident. Will the auto insurance pay for the treatment for the pre-existing neck pain?
A.. Yes. If the condition became worse because of the auto accident, you have the right to get proper treatments until you reach to pre-accident condition.
Q.. I got neck pain from a car accident, but my car got almost no damage. Will the auto insurance still pay for the treatment of my neck pain?
A.. Yes. There is no specific relationship between the body injury and the car damage. Some sturdy SUV’s do not easily get damaged by impact but can transfer the force from the collision to the passenger in it and cause quite body injury. The biomechanic of your body posture and motion at the time of collision is more important factor that affects the amount of the body injury than the damage of the car you were riding.
Q.. The E.R. gave me pain killers. Do I have to keep taking them?
A.. If you are in too much pain, it might be okey to take pain pill in short period of time as necessary. However, the pain pills hide your symptoms that you may think you are okey even though your body got injured. In that case it can prevent you from getting proper teatments in time and make the recovery from the injury harder, and possibly cause permanent disability in worse case. Remember you have to treat the injury that causes the pain, not the pain itself.

Chiropractic Care
We specialize in correcting your body’s misalignments. Our goal is to ensure that your spine and the rest of your body are working harmoniously. To do so, we will help you develop a plan that will require light stretching, some exercise, chiropractic care, and a healthy diet.
Corrective Exercises
Corrective exercises are the use of bodily movements and/or postures to restore desirable changes in diseased or injured tissues. The corrective exercises are movement strategies that minimize or eliminate compensation. Corrective exercises should precede more integrated exercises, because they can cue the patient’s motor system to respond in a more desirable way and assist in removing or improving biomechanical constraints.
Custom Orthotics
Custom foot orthotics are designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look similar to insoles, but are biomedical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. The plastic body of the custom orthotic helps to re-align the foot while you walk. We understand that everyone is different, which is why custom foot orthotics are made just for you.
Electrical Stimulation
Electrotherapy is an alternative pain management treatment option that involves the use of mild electromagnetic pulses to provide relief for the patient. This treatment option can dull pain, repair tissue, strengthen muscles, and even improve your blood circulation.

Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are many types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities). People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons; for example, to reduce stress and anxiety, to relax muscles, to rehabilitate injuries, to reduce pain and to promote overall health and wellness.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is an intervention administered to various patients to alleviate pain or restrictive tissue problems. The release treatment usually involves the application of gentle or moderate pressure on the connective tissues and leads to relaxation and eventual elongation of the fascia therein. These restrictions are often caused by traumatic accidents or inflammations of the soft tissue. Some patients get them as an after-effect of surgery. They always result in muscular tension and spasm of sharp pain. They cannot be detected through standard diagnosis tests like the x-ray scan. It is essential for a patient to visit a doctor or physiotherapy expert once they notice restriction of movement in the hip area or shoulder. Painful backs can also be a sign of the restriction and can only be treated through the Myofascial Release procedures.
If you have never undergone a Myofascial Release procedure before, you might wonder what will be done. There is no need to panic any way, since it is a minor therapy intervention meant to alleviate any pain that could be as a result of fascia muscle pain and restriction. Here is what you can expect if you visit a standard therapist for your myofascial pain treatment.
- The therapist might have to interview you about what you think the cause of the pain could be. They may also palpitate the affected area to identify the particular fascia that needs to be massaged and given due attention during the procedure.
- A standard treatment should last anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour, but should not last longer than that as that may lead to soreness and fatigue.
- You may experience considerable relief, but if the case is severe, you may need to go for another session or two in the subsequent days.
- The treatment does not require the use of any equipment and creams or gels. The therapist will only need their hands to manipulate and apply slight pressure to the trigger points and affected muscles.
Pediatric Chiropractic
Chiropractic care is not just for adults. In fact, more and more parents are seeing the many benefits of their children seeing a chiropractor every single day. Some of the benefits are improved sleep, improved behavior and attitude, and improved immune system function. Children encounter many physical stresses in their life that you may not realize. These stresses can cause your child’s spine to have issues in growth and development.
Physiotherapy
It is important to understand that often times where the pain presents is not the area that needs to be treated. The pain may be due to that area compensating and being over-worked from another area not pulling its weight. Our rehabilitation program includes strength, flexibility and agility training as well as training focused on coordination of body parts and motion to prepare the individual to return to full participation.
Pre/Postnatal Chiropractic
Here at Cha Family Chiropractic, we offer a conservative approach to treating pregnant women. Our prenatal care is gentle and safe. We aim to alleviate the stress and strains of pregnancy while improving comfort for both the mother and baby. We understand the physical changes that come with pregnancy, and we offer relief without using any drugs.
Worker’s Compensation
Worker’s compensation is a form of insurance that replaces lost wages and pays for medical and chiropractic care for people injured on the job. It typically covers a number of injuries that can happen to nearly any worker. These injuries may occur as a result of a slip and fall accident, tripping over a hazard or on an unsafe surface, or falling off a ladder. For some workers, workers’ compensation will cover injuries that happen while the worker is driving or traveling as part of his or her work duties.
Musculoskeletal disorders affect a person’s muscles, bones, joints and connective tissue, such as tendons and ligaments.
A number of musculoskeletal disorders can keep a worker off the job, including:
- Sprains, strains, and tears
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive stress injuries
- Headaches and migraines
X-Rays
One of the most important elements of chiropractic care is diagnostics. Chiropractic radiology is a tool utilized in care as a diagnostic practice to rule out pathology (such as possible tumor or fracture) and/or an additional aid to determine where to adjust the spine. Chiropractors rely on a variety of diagnostic techniques in order to fully understand what is occurring in the patient’s musculoskeletal system, and how a given treatment intervention could bring about positive results in each patient.
Spinal Decompression
Spinal decompression is a non-invasive mechanical procedure performed within our office to help alleviate back pain. It involves gently stretching the spine to take pressure off the spinal discs (the cushions that separate the vertebrae in the spine). By relieving this pressure, bulging discs can retract back into place which takes pressure off the nerves in the spine. By decompressing the spine, it permits water, oxygen and other fluids to work their way back into the discs allowing them to heal naturally. Spinal decompression is an excellent option for anyone with chronic back pain who wants to get back to living a pain-free life as quickly as possible.
Triton DTS Spinal Decompression Therapy is an effective treatment for:
- Herniated Discs
- Degenerative Disc Disease
- Low Back & Neck Pain
- Sciatica
- Post-Surgical Patients
- Stenosis
- Facet Syndrome
